The Star Tribune has Al Franken up by 9 but a day earlier Survey USA had Coleman up by 10. Wow, you gotta put a lot of faith in these polls when they are getting these kinds of disparrities. One might even begin to question the accuracy of the recent national polling results.

If Senator Colemen were to lose to any other candidate, this would not be a big issue. However, Norm only has himself to blame and it does not take long to understand why. Norm received a dismal 38% grade from the Citizens Against Government Waste. The scorecards are graded on a 100% scale on how well senators and congressmen vote to fight pork, cut spending, and decrease taxes.

An incumbent senator against a scandal ridden Al Franken should of been a cake walk. However, people on the outside looking in should not underestimate the DFL. The DFL machine is extremely organized and will make the race closer then it should be. If Al Franken does win, it means another victory notch for liberals and another example that the Minnesota electorate is a bit nuts.

I would have preferred it if Barney Frank received a physical beating in jail over a verbal beating on Fox News, but I guess it is better than nothing. The unabashedly crooked congressman from Massachusetts has literally no shame from what I could see in a couple interviews. The man who wants to create legislation for even more affordable housing even after the collapse of Fannie and Freddie is redonkulous.

It is a constant theme with Frank in blocking any attempts to regulate Freddie and Fannie, but that is not really the issue. The point is there should be no hybrid private/public companies that exist. They decided it would be best to make housing affordable with sub prime lending that other banks wouldn’t touch. Blah, blah, blah… long story short, the Democrats and Republicans refuse to acknowledge that the financial crisis was self induced by government figures like Barney Frank. How many millions did he alone cost America? Who knows, but it is ridiculous he is having any input on the solution, and the he is not in jail for these crimes against the people. He is getting huffy about getting yelled at, I say you are damn lucky Franky.

From the first presidential and vice presidential debates, Barack Obama and Joe Biden have been promoting their economic policy by stating it will build the economy from the bottom-up. I’m sorry, since when did hourly workers create more jobs then business owners? Apparently these hourly workers will boost the economy by paying for their mortgages they couldn’t afford and then they can go on a spending spree to places like Joe Biden’s favorite store, Home Depot. Notice how they don’t produce wealth and only consume it?

This whole notion that a consumer economy is just a reality in America is total bullshit. When the US has the second highest corporate tax rate in the world on top of being bogged down by unions, environmental restrictions, and high energy prices, is it any surprise that companies are finding it harder to compete ? When the government makes it harder for businesses to produce and easier for people to stay on hourly work, then there is going to be a real investment and jobs deficit. It is the real tragedy that people in America conduct class warfare which inevitably comes back and hurts the American people.

Every liberal loser talks about a living wage after sipping some fair trade coffee, but they are all for punishing US businesses for their “evil” practices. If they are so evil, why don’t we just ban private enterprise? Instead, liberals use this narrativethat businesses are evil to hoodwink the public into allowing higher taxes on business. It is really appalling because the public is mostly unaware of how much the business taxes increase the price of goods.

My favorite is the evil oil companies. Liberals say high gas prices are terrible because the oil companies are price gouging the consumers. Apparently higher prices are much worse then gas lines, right? The first debate turned into a finger pointing match on who was a bigger friend to the oil companies. Nobody blames the government for making gas too expensive with taxes, regulation, and drilling bans; it really boggles the mind on what Obama and his Obots really believe. Then when the gas prices are too low, then the government needs to find a way to make gas more expensive to “encourage” consumers to drive more fuel efficient cars. It is moronic.

Why is talk radio so popular with conservatives? Is it because conservative are so stupid? Nope. The reason talk radio is so popular, is that it is the sole place for real conservative ideas and grassroots movements. For whatever reason, they seem to get it. The Republican Party is part of the Washington establishment and often times is directly against conservatives on big issues like immigration, the economy, and government spending. Having John McCain as the Republican nominee is not helping this situation. The moderate maverick is good on foreign policy but dreadful on domestic issues. This includes the global warming lie, immigration, and most recently, the bailout. Adding populist Palin (I like her, I really do, but I must call them like I see them) to the ticket gives me little reassurance that any of McCain’s issues will move to the right outside of energy.

Why so glum chum? Not every conservative feels like me on this, but it has been a while since 1984. We have had George Bush, Bob Dole, George W. Bush, and now John McCain as the most recent Republican presidential candidates. This makes it six presidential elections without a legitimate conservative to get enthusiastic about. I would like to take this time to thank all the Mike Huckabee supporters for making this happen for at least one more election. You guys voted on a RINO which blocked a semi-tolerable Romney and you never gave Fred a chance.

The conservatives, like the PUMA’s, are feeling left out from their party, but to a much lesser extent. We have super stars like Senators Coburn and DeMint, but the gang of ten RINO’s give liberal policies more legitimacy and support. Conservatives cannot trust the Republican Party. A couple of years ago, I contemplated moving to the Libertarian Party because I had enough, but a real conservative cannot trust the Libertarians either. Conservatives see Ron Paul 90% favorable, but he is unrealistic on foreign policy. Libertarians mystify Republicans in this regard and by also supporting some nutty social policies. For some reason Libertarians seem to quarrel with Republicans more than the the more ideologically distant Democrats, I do not know why.

The lack of enthusiasm from many conservatives can be attributed to this lack of representation in places of power. A helplesness that the American people feal after continually being ignored on many important issues just reinforces that distrust. If conservatives cannot trust the Republicans or the Libertarians, what are conservatives supposed to do? It would be imprudent to allow Democrats gain all the power and allow them to hijack the courts, congress, and military. If the Democrats do win big this November, it will continually test our resolve because the Democrats will threaten conservatives’ speech with the fairness doctrine and by ignoring the people. Another election where many will have to hold their nose, but the Palin pick does make this ticket easier to support. However, do not make any mistake, conservatives are between a rock and hard place politically.

This bailout issue has exposed many from Washington, the media, and casual observers as completely inept when it comes to simple economics. Actually, this whole campaign and economic “crisis” has shown the ignorance about how a free market works. Even people who claim to be on the right and some misguided few from the right are even on board which mystifies me.

The following quotes show how far some fellow Conservatives are on this issue from me.

“We’ve made this bill better,” said House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio. “Is it perfect? No. But it clearly is better than it was a week ago.” LA Times

“Can I Just Say… [ace] Part of the reason I’ve been pushing this — but only a small reason– was my belief it would ultimately pass, and that if 1/3rd of the party continued hating it and thinking it was a socialist sell-out, the base would be depressed and dispirited and wind up not voting or not donating, etc.” Ace of Spades Blog

Luckily most of the talk radio heads were on the right side of the bailout issue like Rush, Laura, and Glenn (who was kind of on the fence early). The point is, if a dope like me (Thanks Glenn), can figure this out, why can’t anybody else? You cannot spin this vote any other way, as a Republican, other then giving the democrats cover after they created this crisis in the first place. You cannot put a silver lining on an ineffective $700 billion bailout that the people were against 9-1. A bad bill is a bad bill and the only outcome this bill will bring is more socialism.

Well, at least we put it behind us! For some reason I should be assured John McCain will be a conservative from here on out. Sorry, I don’t buy it. If John McCain is not willing to save the taxpayers from this pork and too afraid to place the blame on Barney Frank, Barack Obama, and Chris Dodd, then I’m sorry he is too worried about appearing bipartisan and not exposing the truth.
